About Capshaw
God has seen fit to call together this assembly that we call Capshaw Baptist Church in order to exalt His son, Jesus Christ - the One whose death and resurrection gives us peace with God and the hope of heaven. You will find that the person and work of Jesus Christ is the common thread that runs through every ministry and expression of worship at Capshaw.
Visitor Information
When you arrive at Capshaw Baptist Church, please park your vehicle in one of our visitor parkings spots near the front of the main auditorium.
Once on campus, proceed to the Welcome Center located in the foyer of the main Auditorium; it is dedicated to helping you get the most out of your time with us. At the Welcome Center, you'll find:
- Information about our service times and locations
- Children's Ministries staff to assist you in finding the right classrooms for your children
- Direction to small group meetings across our campus.
Our two, duplicate worship services on Sunday mornings are each approximately one hour and fifteen minutes long (9:00–10:15 and 10:30–11:45). A Pastor's reception is held in your honor after our worship services. At that time, you'll be given a CD of that days worship service, refreshments and a personal welcome from our Lead Pastor Zach Terry and his wife Julie.
During each worship service, several Small Group Bible Studies meet across the campus. These groups emphasize fellowship and solid teaching as they seek to equip people on a practical level for Christian living.

At the age of nineteen Zach Terry heard the Gospel while channel surfing through a local Christian radio station and was haunted by it's truth until he came to full repentance in faith in Jesus Christ.
In 2008 Zach became Senior Pastor of the Capshaw Baptist Church. Since that time Capshaw has baptized nearly 300 people and has grown from an average weekly attendance of 425 to over 900 people and the growth continues.
Zach is committed to verse by verse, expository preaching. He views the local church as a missionary outpost that is commissioned to win people to Christ both locally and globally.

"I was born and raised in the great state of Texas". I worked in the corporate world for many years in Operations Management and Human Resources before surrendering to full-time ministry. I have served on staff at two previous Texas churches in the roles of Associate Minister/Students and Minister of Education until the Lord called our family to serve in Alabama. I received my ministry training graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.
"My desire as Executive Pastor is to support, equip, and help enable the Capshaw staff and body of Christ to share the gospel to our community and world.
I have been married to Fawnda for 27 years. God has blessed us with three beautiful daughters Lauren, Rachel and son-in-law Eric, and Hannah.

I spent the first dozen years or so of my career in sales and marketing before the Lord called me into full-time service for Him. Before calling our family to Capshaw Baptist Church, I have had the honor of serving the Lord in churches in Kentucky and Tennessee in Education and Leadership roles. My greatest joy and passion is helping God-called men and women in the body of Christ to soar to new heights in their personal walk with God and to fulfill the great commission of Jesus Christ by sharing their faith and discipling new believers. I also love to help leaders to grow and thrive in their area of ministry and to raise up new leaders throughout the church body for the glory of God! I have been married to Leslie-my partner in the ministry, best friend, and dearest soul mate-for fifteen years. Also, God has blessed us with three precious children. I love serving at Capshaw and am sitting on the edge of my seat to see what wonderful things the Lord will do in His church in the days to come!

My desire is to see the body of Christ corporately come together to express genuine worship to Christ. I desire to see worship take place both in spirit and in truth; meaning biblical truth that is both understood in the head and felt in the heart.
My wife, Anna, is not only my best friend, but my partner in ministry. We have two precious daughters, Ava and Hallie.
What a privilege it is to be called by God into ministry to serve His bride, the local church. I can't imagine doing anything else!

I grew up in Tuscaloosa, AL for the first 20 years of my life, and then moved up north for the next 10ish years. I'm thanking God daily that He's moved me back to Bama to serve Him at Capshaw and to tell all the teens of this community about how ridiculously awesome Jesus is. We're going for the most fun, exciting, rocking, relational, real, and deep student ministry possible. Come check us out!

It is a joy to serve with you in the Rocket City Children's Ministry! I have a passion for
seeing children come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. It is my heart's desire to help
children fully understand what it means to walk in obedience to Christ.
I moved here to Huntsville over 7 years ago from the Washington DC area. I graduated
from Word of Life Bible Institute and attended Tennessee Temple University where I
majored in Christian Education, with an emphasis in Children's Ministries. After a few years
in corporate America, God began to stir in my heart to serve Him in full time ministry.
I spent two years traveling with Life Action Ministries as a singer and working with the
children and youth. I also served on staff at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA.
I welcome the opportunity to share with you all the exciting things happening in the
Capshaw Children's Ministry!
