MOPS moms engage in many community outreach projects. Gift wrapping for HelpLine, a community crisis services center, is a great way to give back during the holiday season. A Diaper changing station is hosted annually at our local street festival as a place for moms to be able to change their little ones. About 60 fleece blankets are handmade and donated to the NICU. The moms and children enjoy decorating a Christmas tree at our local library with hand made ornaments.
January 2008
MOPS hosted a Mom's Night Out and we made no-sew baby blankets. Fifty baby blankets and 26 bean bag toys were made and delivered to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital Women's and Children Center. Former WHNT news anchor, Amy George, was there to receive the blankets and toys and watched our babies while we toured the NICU.
