One of the primary texts used at Whitesburg Heritage Bible College and at Masters College to teach biblical counseling.

Competent to Counsel, by Jay E. Adams
Explains why Christians are competent to counsel other people with the truth of God’s word, and some principles of biblical counseling.

God's Solutions to Life's Problems, by Wayne Mack and Joshua Mack
A practical self-study guide for dealing with life's trials biblically.  It is used as a text book at Whitesburg Heritage Bible College.

How People Change, by Paul Tripp & Tim Lane
The title says it all.

Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands, by Paul David Tripp
An engaging and lively book that provides a biblical attitude check for all Christians and teaches how to give biblical counsel.

Developing Biblical Attitudes Toward God and Life

Trusting God, by Jerry Bridges
This book helps you prepare for life's trials BEFORE they happen so you will understand and accept what God does in your life.  By showing in scripture that God is trustworthy in every situation, Jerry Bridges helps you prepare to trust God rather than succumb to Worry, Fear, Anxiety, Confusion, or Grief.

When People Are Big And God Is Small, by Edward T. Welch
Describes how fearing people, rather than fearing God, affects our lives and causes us to sin.
